What’s a good way to build a channel without conforming to the youtuber motif/format you see with all these other channels? Instead doing like an asmr or montage style format without commentary?

Not doing commentary gives a significant disadvantage for creators. You'll have to find an extremely unique way to present your content that other channels aren't doing if you choose to not do commentary
