Yea, there are many CTs in CTGP like Mushroom Peaks that are harder than any of the 32 Nintendo Tracks. Any new player who hops online to try CTWWs has to learn... 218 CTs.

If you want to improve new player experience for CTWWs, remove courses like Mushroom Peaks. They're the only reason I don't touch CTs online, nobody wants to lose -100VR every time they have to play a 13 year old challenge course

That's kinda the experience you get with modding. You can do stuff that Nintendo would never do and harder tracks is a result of that. I remember when I first played Six King and it was online. I had no idea where to go, but I still had fun in the end.

In fact it was that very experience that made me want to go into Time Trials to learn the route and practice how I play the game. I think harder tracks do exactly that, encourage people to know how to play the game better so they can compete actively in online.

I think what CTGP would benefit from is “easy to learn, hard to master” kinda deal. A casual player shouldn’t feel distaste to Mushroom Peaks because of its overall layout. All courses should be open to casual players, but also be open for competitive players to master.
