Ok yea this method is definitely broken.
I've been following around block facts recently to see how they blew up with shorts and err yea their methods have definitely been shown to work. Oh and shoutout to VidIQ as well for some additional info :3

Shorts only calculate one thing the most, retention percentage viewed.
Shorts have an automatic loop feature.
The shorter your short is, the more it can loop, the higher percentage viewed. Thus resulting in more views :3
