I am going to leave this website with a hot take but I think this is a good change from a psychological standpoint.

Unfortunately dislikes are still visible to the uploader and still affect how the video performs

it's a net negative, dislikes are the best way to tell apart good tutorials from bad ones because it takes way less effort to dislike something than to comment on it, and creators can delete comments
