Kris and the player are two separate entities in Deltarune. When Kris does an action, the game will say, "Kris did X" (dance, self care, etc) When the player does an action, the game will say, "You did X". The, "you", tho is more prominent in Snowgrave and barely noticeable.

// spoilers obviously This is more supported at the end of the Snowgrave route with Noelle's dialogue. Where she describes, "a voice unlike Kris's" referring to the player. Theoretically, your choices don't matter in this world, but you can manipulate others to do your choices.

It's interesting because in Undertale, "you", was always used so much I guess players just got used to it and didn't notice in Deltarune the difference between, "Kris", and, "you". Attention to detail everyone :3

This entire tweet made me realize that Toby fox could be planning a genocide route where every "Kris" is changed to "You"
