We added noise caves, changed world height, and added aquifers (local water levels). Summarized in this pic. Note that the underground biomes don't generate quite yet. Try it, give us feedback!

WAIT THIS MEANS THERE COULD BE MORE RARER ORES THAN DIAMONDS THAT ARE STRONGER THAN NETHERITE BECAUSE THE ORES SPAWN BELOW DIAMOND LEVEL

If they added something that huge they would have probably announced it by now. Unless they delayed the update for some reason

They've talked about why they won't add more ores that have a use like diamonds (armour, swords, tools, etc) Unless they already have a very good reason to. Like, if they added an ore that you can craft into a helmet w/ goggles that give you night vision for better caving!
