Really, so did they just edit out the majority of mouth movements? I though it was just a joke. Like a homage to classic cartoon of the silent movie era.

Actually this is incorrect. There was no script for this episode. They couldn't voice act anything because their equipment wasn't good for recording anything.

I'm very skeptical about that rumor. (I know the first episode is the pilot and they added this short one to fill 11 minutes. Similar to why Gary Takes a Bath is shorter.)
