anytime i log into youtube all i see is trump's face plastered all over the site in forms of advertisements, its so disgusting

I guess you don't use Adblock...
Actually, no it isn't. Funny you mention the illegality of things because a lot of the methods sites use to track people's activities are often violating state and federal laws, not to mention if the tracking crosses international lines, there's that too. Blocking it is legal.

The more and more people use adblock, the more people that don't get paid and thus results in more websites requiring more paid subscriptions.

If Adblockers worked that well, that would of been addressed and they would of implemented another method. Ads are run by script calls; the moment the script call is run, the ad revenue is generated. Adblockers intercept the script after it is called and kill it.
