Minecraft 1.8 and the old 4J Studios version of the game were both the best versions of Minecraft. Anything after that point just doesn't feel the same.

idk... anything before 1.14 to me feels kinda empty, the texture update especially helped breathe new life into the game, and the latest updates have been fixing the critical areas in the game, making them feel way more alive while also leaving a lot for modders to build on.

Personally, I prefer 1.7.10 because blockhitting, eating while digging, bows, etc animations got screwed up. Although we have mods and clients to fix the animations (I use Lunar Client) and it’s great. I love the 1.8 PVP experience and using my rod and combo’ing people is fun.

I've been playing since before full release, and all the way up to 1.17 and probably beyond I've never had any major issues with any updates
