I'd just give it a shot if I were you. Chances are the algorithm is going to be so random it won't affect that much. So long as people enjoy it when they find it and watch it, it'll help your channel grow (Note: this is coming from someone who doesn't know everything about YT)

this is what the algorithm is doing right now for me: "ok this person does mario kart so we're going to recommend her videos on videos that do mario kart related content"
