Because notice, after the giant bell gets unlocked in the trailer, a tower is clearly seen that is lit up. Of course, that's only one tower so it doesn't really prove my theory.
Also maybe Bowser only comes after a certain amount of towers. Hmm.

Ok so my theory is that the goal of Bowser's Fury is that you need to light up each of the towers to unlock that giant bell before Bowser awakens by collecting a cat coin which is located in front of each tower.
(Which btw the cat coin is the same animation as Odyssey's moons)

Ok theory. These cats are the same colors as playable characters in the base Super Mario 3D World. So what if the story is that all characters except for Mario have been turned into real cats and only Mario can save them?
