I'm more saying 3 and 2 are vastly different from each other. It's the same series, but plays differently. Like Mario Golf and Mario Kart are under the same series but are vastly different from each other.
Splatoon has been on two consoles in total so far. I think it's too early to say that Splatoon is limited to one console.
