Lost track of how much I’ve learned from Brian. @friedberg if you want to check out flying robots, @BrianYutko is your man.

Such a blast talking with @friedberg about becoming an astronaut, commercial opportunities in space, philosophy of space exploration, and more.
i had the thrill and honor to chat with astronaut (and fellow Cal alum) @Astro_Woody, from the @Space_Station yesterday. really fun convo on a wide range of topics. full video..

I have no words suitable for the magnitude of destruction in Lahaina, so I’ll just share some raw images. Aug 8 just before the fires started, and Aug 17 during recovery operations. My heart goes out to those affected.

It’s been over 6 months since my last training session on the ground. Here’s how @NASA_Astronauts keep current on operating the @csa_asc Canadarm-2.

Unnamed storm brewing in the South Pacific last week. The @Space_Station provides an incredible platform for monitoring extreme weather events around the world.

Ha, great point. My first job ever was packing parachutes at SkydivePA. I have only 250 jumps. This mission has definitely helped my free fall time. Do I log it as a single jump?

The acceleration is so small that it would be difficult to detect without doing a careful float like I show in the video.

We film and take photos out the window all the time, and there are some great external facing video feeds available here: eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ESRS/HDEV/

Thanks for these details! Note this video was filmed during a reboost a couple weeks ago, not the one yesterday.

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe this reboost was on the order of 1.5m/s delta V. For reference our orbital speed is roughly 7800 m/s.

We have small crew quarters, roughly the size of a telephone booth.

Yup! And that apparent gravity vector points sideways - technically could stand on a scale on an aft wall and register a small weight. You’re right, it would be an almost perfect parabola - distorted only by ventilation airflow.
